'Allo 'allo all:Have trialed several memberships ( Big Fish,Shockwave,Gamehouse ) and am wondering which you would recommend and why. Enjoyed one version of SW's because you could get any full version any time and as many as you like. Looks ,however, like BF has the larger warehouse of games.

Re: Which site membership is best?
Hi Jeremiah,
I guess it would depend on what kind of games you like as well as other factors. I haven't tried out Shockwave much so I can't give an opinion about it. Big Fish does have the biggest selection, I think, although it seems that they release a lot of HOGs. But if you like those, then Big Fish would be good. Gamehouse does release some games that Big Fish doesn't carry but the only negative that I have about Gamehouse is that its customer service isn't so great. Big Fish is courteous so I like them a lot.
Anyway, it's totally up to you and what your preferences are. ^^

Re: Which site membership is best?
Thanks Scarlet! I used to knockabout the freeware/shareware zone a bit and RPGs and little games are items there ( only place I know of where you can still find Patrician ). Used to hear a lot of bragging on GameSushi and Chocalatesnow as well.

Re: Which site membership is best?
I've been a BigFish member for years. One of the nice things about it is that you can cancel and rejoin at any time, so you don't have to buy credits you don't need, but you're also not locked out of the discounts.
The customer service is excellent - I had a problem with a game that couldn't be fixed, and BigFish gave me 2 free game coupons in compensation.
Since you can drop and rejoin, you don't have to use them exclusively. I've occasionally bought games other places, too, but BF is my 'go to' game club.
I agree on the too many HOGs, though. Ugh.

Re: Which site membership is best?
The same rules on quitting apply at other sites, at Shockwave you would have to go monthly which would cost more per annum. I trialed the 3 sites I mentioned above and had more difficulty contacting BF to discontinue than I did the others, but have heard their CS is good. The any game/any time without having to purchase it is the big hook with Shockwave. I do like BF's stock though as they are the only I know to carry both Be A King and Defenders Of The Crown.

Re: Which site membership is best?
It's easy to cancel membership at BF - just click the 'My Account' tab and then the link to cancel your membership. It's been that way for quite a while now.
There's no penalty at BF for canceling - the price is the same per month no matter what. They don't have an annual plan (I think they offer you a stuffed fish if you keep the account active for a year, but I can live without it!)
There are some bonuses if you buy 6 games in a given month, but I don't play enough to have taken advantage of that.

BigFish, especially for support and Gamehouse for selection.
