    Asset extraction Empty Asset extraction

Some time ago, I found a program called QuickBMS. Its purpose is to use scripts to extract assets from countless different games, including a fair amount of Sandlot's titles. You can get it from here: http://aluigi.altervista.org/papers/quickbms.zip

    And here are the scripts:

Cake Mania 1, Cake Mania: Back to the Bakery, Cake Mania 2: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/sandlot_dat.bms

    Cake Mania 3: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/cakemania3.bms

    Cake Mania: Main Street: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/cakemania_mainstreet.bms

Cake Mania: Lights, Camera, Action!: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/cakemanialca.bms

Cake Mania: To the Max!: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/cakemaniamax.bms

    Fashion Forward: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/fashion_forward.bms

Various games such as the first Westward and most of the older Super Granny and Tradewinds titles: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/sandlot_acdc.bms

The more recent Super Grannies, Kuros and Glyph 2: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/sandlot_boo.bms

    Monster Mash: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/7x7m.bms

    Snail Mail: http://aluigi.altervista.org/bms/snail_mail.bms

For most of the games, this simply allows you to directly view the images and listen to the sound files, but you can also extract various XML files from the Cake Mania games that contain some very insightful information. I've only really examined the first game in detail, but playing it while knowing the exact properties of individual customers was a fascinating experience and really improved my performance. Here are some examples of what I found out:

-Every customer actually has four different versions, all of which have somewhat different properties. Most of them look the same however. Businessmen, grannies and women (college students and brides) are the only customers whose variations are visually distinct.

-For the most part, every customer version is exclusive to a certain bakery. However, the casino bakery brings back a few customer versions previously seen in the first bakery. For example, it features both version 1 businessmen (who wear regular clothes, order one-layered cakes and are moderately patient) and version 4 businessmen (who wear vacation outfits, order two-layered cakes and are very impatient)

-Due to what is presumably a typo, version 2 businessmen (found exclusively in the beach bakery) actually feel more comfortable in Dracula's presence, but dislike Santa.

-School boys will always have their happiness completely maxed out whenever they eat a cupcake, so it's easy to ensure they'll leave with five hearts.

-Most customers pay you one extra dollar for each heart they have when receiving their cake. However, grannies, women and Santa give you two dollars, and businessmen pay you five, easily making them the most generous customers.
