    Introducing UpTap Empty Introducing UpTap

Post by madrussian Tue Oct 02, 2012 2:43 am

    Folks,

I've started a new company. It's called UpTap and we're working on games for tablets. Working on two right now, with some of the folks from ole Sandlot.

Figured you guys need to know. And I thank you for your wonderful support through the years.

Come to uptap.com and sign up to receive email/blog updates. I will be building more of a website soon but it's all hands on deck for game development.

I knew that after you were fired from Digital Chocolate you would begin a new company!

I'll stay tuned... though I'm not to eager about tablet games. Any chance of you returning to PC games?

    EDIT: http://www.geekwire.com/2012/casual-gaming-vets-raise-cash-uptap-focusing-tabletbased-games/

OK, I understand the need of you to take advantage of the trend to make money, you're a company after all. But still, I really hope that you make at least one thing that will satisfy us, the older fans. I really don't want to see a new Cake Mania (if it gets released) as a tablet exclusive. Sad

This is exciting news. Thanks for sharing Mr. Bernstein! I believe I speak for all of us here, when I say that we hope that UpTap will be as successful as Sandlot was. And I for one, look forward to playing whatever you guys produce. Smile

Oh, and we are honored to have you here. Cool

While I really hope UpTap receives the success they deserve, which is the same with Sandlot's, but unfortunately, I'm not a tablet user so I can't be excited enough for those news.

When I heard the Digital Chocolate news, I wished that you would form a new company to get back to PC gaming business. Well, half wish granted... Neutral

But still, great to see you here. I definitely didn't expect that.

About a month ago, a new tweet was made on Tweeter that said one game's development has just started. While I'm not part of the tablet market, I'm still interested in what the old people of Sandlot do. Are there any more news coming?

I got a surprise present of an Android device for Christmas, so it looks as though I may be interested in UpTap games after all!

Thanks for the update Kaotika Smile.

Any further news to share yet, Madrussian?

I just got a Nexus 7, which is a wonderful gaming machine. I wish, o I wish, I wish, I could play my favorite Sandlot Games on it, but since they're now owned by Digital Chocolate (may they rot in H-E-double hockeysticks), I don't guess that will ever happen. Sob.

BTW, you all may enjoy Waking Mars, available on multiple platforms including PC, Ipad and Android. It's an exploration game and you don't have to kill anything, with an awesome story line and I think it's the best game I've played in years.

Very excited about UpTap - hope something is forthcoming soon.

Sandlot Games isn't owned by Digital Chocolate anymore; all were fired and now they've formed UpTap.

Digital Chocolate bought the company and fired the people. They own the games, AFAIK. If UpTap owned the games, I'm sure we would have heard that by now.

Well, you said "Sandlot Games", not "Sandlot's games", so I assumed you meant the company.

Very nice! I hope you have success with your first game. After so many great Sandlot games, you deserve it.

Though deep inside, I hope that you'll start developing for the PC again.

That looks really nice, although it's not the type of game I enjoy. (I prefer puzzle or trading/resource management type games like Tradewinds or Westward).

Still, hope this does well for you and there will be other kinds of games in the pipeline.

I hope the launch goes well and the game is successful. I don't have a tablet, so the game is unfortunately out of reach for me.
