    Tradewinds Legends: Golden Man names

Post by khalleron on Fri Nov 04, 2011 3:42 pm

This is from a thread in the Old old forum, back when TWL was brand-new, but it was interesting enough I would like to start a thread about it here.

Did you realize the Golden Man names were Arabicized versions of pop singers and band names?

Sigar Ba'ab (think this one *should* be Ba'ab Sigar!)
    Zizidab (ZZ Top)
    Bih-laj Ah-eh (Billy Joel)
    Jumai Buh-faht (Jimmy Buffet)
    Al Aviz (Elvis)
    Wilien Al-sun (Willie Nelson)
    Azi Ahzbur (Ozzie Ozborn)
    Khaniji (Kenny G)
    Faleet Wadi-maq (Fleetwood Mac)
    Alatun Dzan (Elton John)
    Bistibas (Beastie Boys)
    Suneet-Ra (Sinatra)

I got one recently I haven't figured out yet:

There are a lot of hidden jokes in TWL - for instance, the Berserker's sword belonged to the legendary Naveen Sayid (a good one if you're a LOST fan).

    Any additions?

Kate: I know the archived thread whereof you speak and started one in the now defunct new SL forum. There is an artist named McCrae.I'll have to replay to remember the ones not on your list.
