    Scores for Tai-pan

Post by Jeremiah on Thu Nov 03, 2011 10:42 am

Matthias: Any idea how the score table for achieving Tai-pan in Classic works? I am assuming it's quickest time to 1bil, but is it only for one's self or taken from past posted times of all previous players. I'm shooting for an early 1880's finish. Again thanks for the push that got me hooked pirat

Only way to play this game is with Gossamer ( so you get Shangri-la from the start ) and using the Moneylender to get Dream Dust. 6.5 years is pretty good. If you don't mind spending "real" time saving/reloading you can get the larger capacity ships more quickly and come in under 6 years.

Bah!!! Since the point of this game is to reach Tai-pan status quickly; the designers should have chosen to play by their own rules ( allowing one to create strategy taking full advantage of options like the lender, without being penalized by having to make 220 landings and so wasting hours of real world time to get a good price ) or added a dozen more save slots. I have no problem fighting fire with fire: Open file/help self and become Tai-pan in second month.
