Hi Jeremiah!
I already had a BOOKMARK to the Westward forums in my browser, and that still works, too. So I'm hoping that they don't physically WIPE the site from the internet, just make it harder to find for the unenthusiastic.

Re: Backdoor to SL forum
I have a bookmark for the forum as well. The forum cannot be posted in, but it can be read. If you want to visit it, the forum can be found here. There's no telling how long it will be there though.

Re: Backdoor to SL forum
The OLD old forum (the one previous to the now defunct one) can be found at [a link it won't let me post, dang it!]
Great resource for the older games - we had such a NICE discussion community for TWL.
Since that one is still available if you know where to look, I would think the more recent one would be, too.
EDIT: posting as text, maybe (crossing fingers)

Re: Backdoor to SL forum
I discovered that since I never "logged out" of the SL Forums, I am still able to post there. Of course, that's not a solution and nobody knows how long it will be available.
And as for not being able to post external links or emails, it seems that the BBS has a limitation on that for new members for 7 days. I got it when quoting Matthias' post above. Learning curve, eh?
Still doesn't prevent us from posting URL's as text, I hope.

Aww, Jeremiah, he's really not that scary. And I think he means well.

Well at least he hasn't followed us over. Maybe Matthias made him persona non-gratis...not that it ever stopped him before

Re: Backdoor to SL forum
Hi all,
I don't want to be telling anyone what to do about this but I did want to give a little advice, if that's ok. Although it does appear that the forum still is there, I would suggest that although some members may have the ability to post there, that they please do not. I'm not entirely sure on this but it may have been unintentional for the forum to be up and yet for some to be able to post there. This may get found out eventually and I'm sure that the forum will be down at some point but yeah.
I'm sure that no one is breaking the rules by posting there but I'm trying to be as ethical as I can be about the situation and I hope that others will do the same. I am glad that the forums are there for resource material at least.

Re: Backdoor to SL forum
Scarlet: The topic started from a question about/wish that the info from the forums was still available.I hadn't checked until TURIN informed me and Matthias posted his link. As to ethics, posting is no different than peeking if your are not supposed to be there, and obviously if bookmarks and links are working the SL folks know it will be used. I have all my needed hints/help in my head or hard copied .

Well, as I said in my previous post, I'm not going to tell anyone what he/she should do. Matthias posted the link for reference purposes more than an opportunity to post. I guess the closest analogy I could think of is if a parent puts the candy jar way up high on the shelf so the child shouldn't be able to reach it but yet they still do. I was always a good child so I never went for the candy if I knew my parents indicated that it wasn't ok.

Re: Backdoor to SL forum
Scarlet: I somewhat understand your point, but the candy was in plain sight while the Forums are not. My parents didn't have to put the candy up (the seldom it was in the house), being the authority in all matters was enough. I am not as certain as others that the site will truly be erased.

Re: Backdoor to SL forum
Yay, now my mail will not be besieged by TURIN's bragadoccia. I'm still blocking him though. He wrote he was going to send the Avatar Dance bug and shuffle characters on me because I sent that he shouldn't continue posting. Guess he really wanted to have the last word. Oooops, guess I was wrong about that Matthias. We can probably thank TURIN for that.

Re: Backdoor to SL forum
Thanks for giving me the credit J ; but I wasn't the only poster and it was probably planned by SL to close after a brief pause anyway. < This is the one you wanted.
